Help keep children safe in Indonesia

Right now children in Indonesia are in danger after an earthquake and devastating tsunami. Over 1,500 people have been reported killed and many thousands are severely affected.

Search and rescue efforts continue as teams search for survivors under collapsed buildings. When the 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck Sulawesi on Friday 29th September, it triggered a tsunami with waves of up to 6 metres high.

Children affected by disasters like this urgently need life-saving support and supplies, such as clean water, to stop the spread of deadly diseases and prevent further loss of life.

How will my donation help children?

Unicef is helping the government in Indonesia to provide life-saving supplies and services to affected children and families.

Unicef is especially concerned for the safety and wellbeing of children who have lost their homes, those who are sleeping rough, and those who have been separated from their families. We’re helping to reunite families, and are supporting the deployment and training of social workers who can provide psychosocial services and support to separated and unaccompanied children.

United for Unicef

When disasters strike, Unicef is ready to respond with whatever children need to survive and to help them rebuild their lives. Manchester United and Unicef have been working in partnership for 19 years to create a safer world for children. With your support you can help Unicef support many more children affected by the tsunami by providing life-saving supplies and services to affected children and their families.

If you’re in the UK and would prefer to make a donation by phone, you can call our dedicated donation line: 0300 034 9993.

In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed Unicef’s funding requirements for this appeal, your one off or monthly gift will go to support the ongoing response to earlier earthquakes in Lombok, Indonesia.
