The chance to learn can change a child’s life

Every child has the right to an education – whatever their background, gender or ethnicity. Unicef wants to see a world where all children enjoy this right.

Yet every day, more than 61 million children don’t attend their primary schools. Without the opportunity to learn, children can’t develop to their full potential. They’re more likely to be trapped in cycles of poverty, poor health and forced labour – often in dangerous environments.

Every year Unicef helps millions of children get an education – for example by providing textbooks and classroom kits, or by setting up child-friendly spaces where children can keep learning, even during a conflict or natural disaster.

A donation from you can give even more children the chance to learn.

I feel very privileged to have met the people who work on the ground for Unicef, making a real difference every day to children’s lives.

The leading footwear brand, Clarks, and Unicef are working together to transform the lives of the most vulnerable children through education.

With the support of Clarks and their customers, Unicef is able to provide basic resources such as pens and classroom equipment so children have the right tools to learn. Unicef is also able to train teachers and work with schools and governments to ensure the quality and standard of education remains high, and to make sure that schools are a safe-space where children’s rights are respected.

Since 2008, Clarks has raised more than £1.6 million to support Unicef’s education work around the world and has helped 86 schools in the UK to achieve their Rights Respecting Schools Award.

Unicef makes sure more of the world’s children are fed, vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws, policies and customs to help protect children than any other charity. We get things done. And we’re not going to stop until the world is a safe place for all our children.

We receive no funding from the UN budget. We rely entirely on voluntary donations like yours to fund our vital work to protect children in danger, transforming their lives and building a safer world for tomorrow’s children.

With your help, we work to protect children and their rights in over 190 countries. Please give what you can and donate online now. Thank you for your donation.

Your donation will go to support Unicef’s work around the world.

If you’re in the UK and would prefer to make a donation by phone, you can call our dedicated donation line: 0300 330 5699. For other ways you can donate please refer to our Donation FAQs.
