UNICEF UK Annual Report
UNICEF works in more than 190 countries and territories to build a better world for every child. UNICEF UK raise funds for UNICEF’s programmes, works with partners and supporters to promote children’s voices, and advocates for change.
UNICEF UK has been delivering programmes for children in the UK for more than 25 years. We work with the hospitals where children are born, the schools where they learn and grow, and the services that shape their lives.
Our 2023 in numbers
In 2023, supporters helped UNICEF UK raise £161 million to protect childhood for every child. That’s a huge number, so let’s break it down.
- £39.4 million to support children in humanitarian emergencies in more than 80 countries.
- £7 million for children affected by the Gaza crisis.
- £19.2 million for children affected by the devastating earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria.
- £12.6 million for UNICEF child health programmes.
- Soccer Aid for UNICEF was anther huge success in 2023, raising an incredible £14.6 million for children across the world.
For children in the UK:
- More than 1.5 million children go to a UNICEF UK Rights Respecting School.
- Over 600,000 newborn babies supported by our Baby Friendly Initiative.
- Almost 950,000 children are growing up in areas taking part in Child Friendly Cities and Communities.
- 66,000 people supported our petition for a Baby and Toddler Guarantee.
