After over two years of relentless bombardment and attacks by Israeli forces on civilian infrastructure, Gaza lies in ruins. Children and families, exhausted by the constant moving, have returned to neighbourhoods reduced to rubble.
2.1 million people – including one million children – are without shelter, clean water, or healthcare.
We are accelerating our response to maintain the decline in famine conditions and prevent malnutrition. However, every child under 5 in Gaza is undernourished, and the need for treatment remains high.

How is UNICEF supporting children in Gaza?
The October 2025 ceasefire brought hope that children and families in Gaza could begin moving from survival to recovery. Now, with increased humanitarian access, our response plan focuses on providing urgent life-saving support while laying the foundations for recovery.
As part of a coordinated UN-led response, we are integrating services in:
- Nutrition
- Health
- Water and sanitation
- Education
- Child protection
- Winter supplies
- Social protection

How to donate to Gaza
One of the best ways to donate to Gaza and the wider State of Palestine is through a monthly direct debit.
A monthly donation enables us to provide continuous support to children when they need it most, through vital food, access to healthcare and a safe space. Children should not have to live in fear of hunger or conflict. Your donation can help protect children in Gaza.
However you choose to donate, you will be helping to make a difference to the lives of children.
For the first 3 months, your monthly Gaza donation will go towards funding our work to support children in Gaza and the wider State of Palestine. After that, donations will go to support our work around the world. Any Gift Aid claimed on donations made to this appeal will support UNICEF’s work around the world.

If you prefer to make a single one-off donation, you can select this option on the donation form on this page or over the phone. £25 could help provide a week’s worth of life-saving therapeutic food for two children.

FAQs
The ceasefire must be reinstated and sustained, all hostages must be released and reunited with their families. In addition, international humanitarian law must be respected, including allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza immediately.
In addition, we are calling for:
- Prioritisation of children both now and in the process of recovery and reconstruction.
- Meaningful responses to the conflict in Gaza must include trauma-informed child-centred services and development.
- Lasting political solution to the crisis, so that children in Palestine and Israel can grow up in peace and free from the shadow of violence.
We are an impartial, non-political humanitarian organisation.
While we continue to report on and advocate for the protection of all children in both Gaza and Israel, our humanitarian response is driven by the need for aid in Palestine.
Before the renewed violence between October 2023 and March 2025, one million children needed humanitarian aid in Gaza and the West Bank. In high-income countries such as Israel, the State usually provides the supplies and services for children that we undertake or support in lower-income countries.
There is a National Committee for UNICEF in Israel – the Israeli Fund for UNICEF – that works to promote and raise awareness of children’s rights in Israel and to raise funds for our work across the world. You can find out more about its work here.

One of the simplest ways to donate to Palestine is by monthly direct debit. Please donate today to support Palestine and help improve the lives of children. As little as £5 per month over a year could provide tablets to purify 20,000 litres of water.
In the first few days of increased humanitarian access, with support from our partners, we delivered tents, winter clothing, tarpaulins, sanitary pads, nappies and hygiene kits to hundreds of families in Gaza.
Our team in Gaza also dispatched enough packs of baby food to feed 12,500 children for two weeks.
We continue to call for full, safe humanitarian access to all entry points.
