Support our Ukraine appeal
It’s been over two years since the escalation of the war in Ukraine on 24 February 2022. More recently, the attacks in Kyviv on 8th July 2024 have left Okhmatdyt Hospital, a children’s hospital, severely damaged. A generation of children in Ukraine have spent more than 800 days engulfed by violence, fear, loss and tragedy.
7.5 million children in Ukraine need your support
The situation is especially acute for the 3.7 million people who are currently displaced within Ukraine.
We are working around the clock in Ukraine and at the borders of neighbouring countries, providing access to clean water, health care services, cash transfers and other critical support.
You can help children and families access safe water with a donation of just £5, which provides 1,786 water purification tablets.
For £25, you can help keep a family safe with emergency supplies such as safe water, maternity kits and essential vaccines.
Can I make a one-off donation?
If you prefer to make a single one-off donation, you can select this option on the donation form on this page or over the phone. A single gift of £39 can help three children heal by providing life-saving therapeutic food for up to three children for one week.

How are we supporting children in Ukraine?
Through your kind support in 2023, we reached:
- 8.76 million people with humanitarian assistance.
- 5.5 million people with access to safe drinking water.
- More than 2.5 million children and caregivers with mental health support.
- Over 1.3 million children with access to education.
We are working closely with our partners in Poland, Moldova, Belarus, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Czech Republic, to help provide humanitarian support for children and families fleeing the war.
Additionally, we have also created Blue Dot safe spaces for children and women in collaboration with the local governments and the UNHCR. These blue dot shelters provide a safe space for families seeking refuge as well as providing water and sanitation supplies.
Why donate to Ukraine?
In 2024, we want to ensure that:
- 500,000 children and caregivers have access to school and community-based mental health support.
- 4.5 million people are provided with sufficient safe drinking water and domestic needs.
- 425,367 children have access to education, including early learning.
- 582,400 people have access to safe spaces, protection and support hubs.
We are providing emergency supplies to Okhmatdyt Hospital and we are ready to assist communities affected by the recent attacks.

Donating items and volunteering
We’re currently not accepting any items for the Ukraine emergency appeal. These kind offers are really appreciated, but any donated items will need to be sorted, cleaned and transported which could impact our response, so please consider making a monetary donation instead to our emergency appeals.
We’re not currently sending any volunteers to Ukraine.

For the first 6 months, monthly donations made to this appeal will go towards funding our work to support children affected by the Ukraine conflict. After that, donations will go to support our work around the world. In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed what’s needed for the Ukraine appeal, we will direct any excess funds to support our work to help keep children safe and healthy around the world.
