Escalating violence is putting children in Haiti at immediate risk.
Years of humanitarian crises have left millions of people in Haiti vulnerable to disease, disaster, and political unrest. Already, hundreds of thousands have been displaced from their homes.
Children and families are enduring relentless waves of brutal violence perpetrated by armed groups in their neighbourhoods, with each day bringing new horrors, the loss of loved ones, homes being destroyed by fires or bullets, and an ever-present shadow of fear.
Critical social services are on the brink of collapse and medical supplies are alarmingly scarce. Hospitals have become targets and are now being forced to evacuate their patients.
In recent weeks, 15,000 people have fled their homes in the capital Port-au-Prince, and tens of thousands more are under siege in their communities. Hundreds of schools are closed due to the fighting.
UNICEF is working around the clock to keep children safe and reach families with life-saving emergency support.
We are working with partners to ensure access to safe drinking water, hygiene supplies, as well as life-saving nutrition support. We are also working to ensure continuity of education and vaccinations.

How will my donation help children?
Our priority is to keep children safe, with access to water, therapeutic food and good hygiene.
We already have a presence in the country and will be continuing our work to administer vaccines and education.
In 2023, we:
- Helped over 1.1 million people access safe drinking water
- Provided measles and rubella vaccines for 190,000 children
- Helped 80,000 children access formal and non-formal education
