The conflict in Syria has now raged for over five years, placing millions of children in terrible danger.
The ongoing conflict in Syria has caused the largest humanitarian crisis since World War 2, with the lives of more than 8 million children in danger. Children's worlds have been turned upside down by this brutal conflict. So many have lost family, friends and schools. So many have been forced to flee their homes.
Every day, Syrian children face grave threats to their life because they lack the simplest things - clean water, vaccines and food.
Children and families in and around Syria urgently need food, clean water and health care, as well as life-saving protection from violence and the chance to learn in safety. Malnutrition, especially for the youngest and most vulnerable children is a real threat. Your donation can help us provide life-saving food to desperately hungry children.
How will my donation help children?
Unicef is one of the few organisations working for children inside Syria and in surrounding countries, as well as for children seeking refuge in Europe. Unicef is delivering life-saving food, clean water and vaccines, as well as providing education and protection services to Syrian families. In 2015, in Syria alone, we treated more than 13,000 children for malnutrition. But we need your help to reach every child in danger.
A donation of £23 from you can buy a month's supply of high-energy peanut paste to bring a severely malnourished child back to health.
Please donate today and help us provide urgent life-saving supplies to children and families affected by the crisis in Syria.
The extent of the crisis in and around Syria has meant that Unicef is finding it increasingly difficult to reach the millions of children affected by the emergency. Unicef is funded entirely by voluntary contributions, we recieve no funding from the UN budget.
For the first 12 months, monthly donations made to this appeal will go to children affected by the Syrian conflict. After that they will go to our Children's Emergency Fund. In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed Unicef's funding requirments for this appeal, your one off or monthly gift will also go to our Children's Emergency Fund, helping children caught in wars and disasters around the world.
