Help protect children from the crisis in East Africa
Triggered by prolonged droughts, ensuing floods and soaring food prices, crisis is building in East Africa and children are caught in the middle.
Millions of children are going hungry. Without access to nutritious food and safe water, 1.5 million children across Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia are at risk of severe acute malnutrition.
Just £40 could provide a course of life-saving therapeutic food to treat a child with malnutrition.
Donate to our Emergency Appeal now.
What is happening?
East Africa is in the grips of a climate crisis. Over 20 million children are facing severe climate shocks.
Four failed rainy seasons in a row killed livestock and crops – a vital life source. This was followed by severe flooding in many areas, all of which has resulted in over 14 million children lacking access to safe water and over 12 million children in need of food assistance.
Soaring prices of food, fuel and fertiliser, exacerbated by insecurity in Ukraine and Russia, has meant that crisis is building upon crisis.
But if we act now, we can help.
Donate now.

You can help protect children across East Africa. Will you donate today?
For the first 6 months, monthly donations made to this appeal will go towards funding our work to support children affected by the East Africa crisis. After that, donations will go to support our work around the world. In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed what’s needed for the appeal, we will direct any excess funds to support our work to help keep children safe and healthy around the world.

10-year-old Hibo is one millions of children displaced across East Africa. In search of food and water, Hibo and her family left their home in Dollow, Somalia, and walked for 10 days to reach their nearest temporary camp. We are working to provide safe water to children facing drought across East Africa, like Hibo.
