Help protect children from the crisis in East Africa
Escalated by the war in Ukraine, the relentless drought, and soaring food prices, crisis is building and children in East Africa are caught in the middle.
Millions of children are going hungry. Without access to nutritious food and safe water, more than 2 million children across Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia need urgent treatment for severe acute malnutrition.
Just £40 could provide life-saving food to cure a child from malnutrition.
Donate to our Emergency Appeal now.
What is happening?
East Africa is on the brink of famine. At least 10 million children are facing severe drought conditions.
Four failed rainy seasons in a row have killed livestock and crops – a vital life source. This has driven over 7 million people from their homes in search of food.
Soaring prices of food, fuel and fertiliser due to the Ukraine war has meant that crisis is building upon crisis.
But if we act now, we can help.
What are UNICEF doing?
We’re providing urgent life-saving support to 4.2 million people, including treatment for severe acute malnutrition and access to clean water and health services.
