Hurricane Melissa has caused catastrophic damage across the Caribbean, severely impacting children and families.

1.6 million children are at risk after torrential rain, strong winds, and landslides destroyed homes, flooded communities, and cut essential services, including communications and transport.

Affected countries in the region include Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti, and The Bahamas.

How to donate to Hurricane Melissa

One of the best ways to donate to the Hurricane Melissa appeal is through a monthly direct debit.

A monthly donation enables us to provide continuous support to children when they need it most, through vital food, access to healthcare and a safe space. Children should not have to live in fear of natural disasters.

However you choose to donate, you will be helping to make a difference to the lives of children impacted by this crisis.

For the first 3 months, your monthly Hurricane Melissa donation will go towards funding our work to support children affected by Hurricane Melissa. After that, donations will go to support our work around the world. Any Gift Aid claimed on donations made to this appeal will support UNICEF’s work around the world.

In the unlikely event that funds raised exceed what is needed, or if funds cannot be viably directed to this appeal, we will direct funds to support our work to help keep children safe and healthy around the world.
