Sudan is the world’s largest internal displacement crisis, and children are paying the highest price.
Relentless attacks on hospitals, schools, water and power supplies have left children and families without access to essential services.
Famine has been confirmed in parts of North Darfur and the Nuba Mountains.
UNICEF is responding to this crisis, delivering life-saving supplies and support to children and families affected.
17.3 million children require protection and emergency assistance. Humanitarian conditions remain dire, with children and families facing severe shortages of food, clean water, health services, and essential supplies.
You can help children by donating just £10 a month, over a year, to bring three severely malnourished children back to health.

How is UNICEF supporting children in Sudan?
We’re working with partners on the ground responding to critical needs in health, nutrition, protection, education and water, sanitation and hygiene.
Some of the following types of support we have provided to children and families include:
- Helping over 15 million people access safe drinking water in 2025.
- Reached 6.4 million people in conflict-affected areas through 1,400 health facilities and mobile teams.
- Helping displaced and returning families with services such as communal kitchens, serving over 60,000 people in 2025.
- Helping 3.2 million children with access to formal and non-formal education through 2025.
- Provided treatment for over 612,000 children with severe acute malnutrition.
As the conflict continues to devastate communities, children are increasingly at risk of malnutrition, disease, exploitation, and long-term disruptions to their education. We must do everything we can to reach children and families in Sudan with life-saving support.
How to donate to Sudan
One of the best ways to donate to Sudan is through a monthly direct debit.
A monthly donation enables us to provide continuous support to children when they need it most, through nutritious food, access to healthcare and safe spaces. Children should not have to live in fear of hunger or conflict.
However you choose to donate, your donation will make a difference to the lives of children in Sudan.

If you prefer to make a single one-off donation, you can select this option on the donation form on this page or over the phone. £20 could provide 6 cans of high-energy therapeutic milk to treat children with severe acute malnutrition.

For the first 3 months, monthly donations made to this appeal will go towards funding our work to support children in Sudan. After that, donations will go to support our work around the world. Any Gift Aid claimed on donations made to this appeal will support UNICEF’s work around the world.
In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed what’s needed for the Sudan emergency appeal, or if funds cannot viably be directed to this appeal, we will direct funds to support our work to help keep children safe and healthy around the world.

We’re currently not accepting any items for the emergency appeal. These kind offers are really appreciated, but any donated items will need to be sorted, cleaned and transported, which could impact our response. Please consider making a monetary donation instead to our emergency appeals.
