Donate to Lebanon to provide humanitarian aid for children and families in crisis
Last updated: 21/11/2024
Growing violence in Lebanon has forced tens of thousands of children and families to flee their homes to seek safety. Since 23 September 2024, over 3,000 people have been killed including over 200 children.
Over 1.2 million people are suffering in this crisis.
Children in both Lebanon and Israel are navigating constant threats to their safety and well-being. No child deserves to experience this terror.
We are calling for the de-escalation of hostilities. We also urge all parties to uphold international humanitarian law, including the protection of children, civilians, and medical personnel.
Please donate to Lebanon to provide vital aid and support to children and families.
What are children experiencing in Lebanon?
- More than 565,000 people have fled to Syria due to the airstrikes, a neighbouring country also in crisis.
- Almost all shelters for displaced people are full.
- Children are facing continued disruption to their learning. Public schools opened on 4 November and closed again on 19 November following widespread attacks over the weekend of 15-17 November.
- 33 water facilities have been damaged, affecting the water supply to 390,000 people.
- 98 Primary Health Care Centres have closed, so many children have reduced access to healthcare.
You can support us to provide aid and support for children in Lebanon so children can survive and recover. Please donate today.
How are we providing aid and support to children in Lebanon?
We are working with around 240 collective shelters hosting nearly 60,000 internally displaced people with the provision of services and essential relief items including water, blankets, mattresses, hygiene kits, dignity kits and baby kits.
Our ongoing support to shelters and host communities aims to provide at least 400 shelters with an integrated package of child-centred services including:
- Clean water
- Sanitation
- Health
- Child protection
- Education
- Nutrition
- Early childhood development
- Youth engagement
We also want to ensure:
- Safe water supplies for 1 million people.
- Continued learning for 500,000 children, including children with disabilities.
- Cash assistance for vulnerable families in collaboration with other UN agencies.
We need your support to reach more children and families with life-saving humanitarian aid. Donate to our Lebanon crisis appeal to support us to provide urgent relief.
How to help Lebanon
We are the world’s largest humanitarian organisation for children and we have been in Lebanon and neighbouring Syria offering critical support to children and families.
One of the most impactful ways you can support is by signing up to give a monthly donation. For the first 6 months, your monthly Lebanon donation will fund our work to support children in Lebanon. After that, donations will go to support our work around the world.
In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed what’s needed for the Lebanon emergency appeal, or if funds cannot viably be directed to this appeal, we will direct funds to support our work in keeping children safe and healthy around the world.
