Guidance for antenatal and postnatal conversations

Home > Baby Friendly Resources > Implementing Baby Friendly standards resources > Guidance for antenatal and postnatal conversations

These signature sheets and accompanying conversations guidance are designed to support staff when talking to mothers about feeding and caring for their baby, both during pregnancy and in the postnatal period.

These resources encourage more mother-centred care and get away from a ‘one size fits all’ approach. They are free download and health professionals can use them in day-to-day practice as part of their conversations with parents.

An additional resource is our Building a Happy Baby leaflet for parents which can be used as a basis for a conversation with a pregnant woman or new mother.
