To help you plan, we’ve mapped out what a school year might look like for a UNICEF UK Rights Respecting School.
This includes activities to help you progress your Rights Respecting journey throughout the year, get the most out of your RRSA membership or to get more involved in UNICEF’s work.
☑️ Kick off the year with OutRight resources. Sign up if you haven’t done so yet.
OutRight is a UNICEF UK annual youth campaign exploring topics that matter to children and young people. In 2023/24 we’re looking at climate change in a campaign filled with hope and solutions. By participating, you’ll get access to learning activities, presentations and facilitator resources, plus support from us.
☑️ Join the RRSA conference.
On 5 October 2023, we’re holding our virtual UNICEF UK Rights Respecting Schools Award conference. Join us for a chance to hear from people from UNICEF and the world of education about the impact of their Rights Respecting work.
☑️ Celebrate World Children’s Day on 20 November.
Every November, we celebrate World Children’s Day, the anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. We turn the world blue in support of children’s rights and provide platforms to raise the voices of children and young people on the issues they care about. You can take this opportunity to organise a rights respecting event at your school – we’ll share some ideas in a toolkit for schools closer to the day.
☑️ Sign up for Soccer Aid Schools Challenge
Are you looking for a fun and meaningful activity to get the school together, promote children’s rights and change lives of children around the world? Soccer Aid Schools Challenge might just fit the bill. You can organise your challenge during summer term in May or whenever works for you.
