The National Neonatal Project

Working towards Baby Friendly accreditation in neonatal units

Please note: Applications to the National Neonatal Project are now closed.

The UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK) is delighted to announce a new neonatal project to support 18 neonatal units to achieve Baby Friendly accreditation between 2021-2024.

Selected units will receive a range of support opportunities throughout the three-year project, including full assessment costs for Stage 1, 2 and 3 accreditation, staff places on training courses, tickets to the 2021 Baby Friendly conference for neonatal units, teaching materials, workbooks, biannual meetings and telephone support with the Baby Friendly team and more, supported by a donation from Nivea UK to UNICEF UK.

For full details on the project, please download the National Neonatal Project information document. For more on working towards our neonatal standards, download our Guidance for neonatal units.
