Unicef UK campaigns to protect children in danger. We won't stop until every child is safe.
Our recent campaigns have focused on ending violence, exploitation and abuse of children in the UK and around the world. Whether signing petitions or visiting MPs, our supporters have been vital to the success of these campaigns.
End Violence campaign
On 25 September 2015 world leaders adopted new Global Goals that will shape the lives of millions of children. The goals, which set out the world's priorities for the next 15 years, include for the first time ever a target to end violence against children.
This target was a key ask of our End Violence campaign, supported by over 50,000 Unicef UK supporters. It means every government across the world has committed to keeping children safe. Never before has the whole world come together to take a collective stand to protect children from violence.
You can help us remind leaders that these important commitments need to be acted upon by sharing this letter from child survivors of violence. Their words tell a powerful story of the danger children are facing in every corner of the world, which is too often unseen and cloaked in silence.
Stop Child Trafficking campaign
At least 10 children are trafficked every week in the UK – facing violence, exploitation and abuse. In 2014 and 2015, more than 65,000 campaigners supported our call for children to be better protected and prioritised in the Modern Slavery Bill.
The introduction of this Bill provided a real opportunity to transform the lives of trafficked children. Unicef UK called on Home Secretary Theresa May and the UK Government to make children a priority in the Bill, to ensure trafficked children are protected by law and have the chance to rebuild their lives.
The Modern Slavery Act is now law. It will make a huge difference to the lives of trafficked children. Our work does not stop here. We will keep up the momentum and do all we can to protect and support children from the danger of trafficking.
