Baby, I Love You is a very special baby book for new mums, dads and babies in Scotland.
The book is a gift from Unicef, with love, to every baby born in Scotland between the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2018 Games in Australia's Gold Coast.
Unicef Ambassador Ewan McGregor has recorded a reading of the book.
Baby, I Love You helps build loving and nurturing relationships between new parents and their baby, encouraging skin contact, holding, stroking, playing and singing.
It is made possible by our Put Children First partnership with Glasgow 2014, saving and changing children's lives in Scotland and throughout the Commonwealth.
The book's beautiful images are by the highly acclaimed and award-winning author-illustrator Helen Stephens.
A song, performed by Mairi Campbell and Ada Francis to the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", accompanies the book.
Becoming a parent is exciting and overwhelming. It takes time for new mums and dads to get to know their baby.
A baby communicates from birth. Responding to baby's cues, and cuddling and comforting him or her, is great for a baby's development.
Baby, I Love You is designed to help parents follow their nurturing instincts, recognise and respond to baby's cues and enjoy this special time with their new baby.
A baby whose needs are met by their loved ones is a more secure and happy baby. A baby cannot be spoiled by love.
The book builds on Unicef's existing Baby Friendly work across Scotland, which aims to give all newborns the best start in life. It was produced by Nosy Crow in association with UNICEF UK.
