Lord David Puttnam spent 30 years as an independent film producer.  His many award-winning films include The Mission, The Killing Fields, Chariots of Fire, Midnight Express, Bugsy Malone, and The Memphis Belle. He now focuses on his work in education and the environment and serves as chair to a variety of public bodies.

David served as UNICEF UK President for seven years, from 2002-2009. In June 2009 he was appointed UNICEF UK Ambassador and in this role he has continued to support UNICEF’s work to protect children's rights.
