Opening Up Better:

Back-to-School for Every Girl

UNICEF high-level event

The Coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on the right to education for children around the world. At the peak, nearly 1.5 billion learners were affected by school closures, and over 850 million children and students continue to face disruption to their education. There is a very real risk that many young people – in particular girls – may never return to school. Without concerted and immediate action, we risk deepening the already alarming global learning crisis and leaving girls behind.

UNICEF warmly invites you to join us on Thursday, 8 October 2020 from 14.00-15.00 BST (9.00 am to 10.00 am EST) as we discuss this critical issue. Opening Up Better: Back-to-School for Every Girl is a high-level dialogue with key speakers exploring how the global community can ensure that no girl is left behind in the COVID-19 global education response.

The event will be shaped by questions and contributions from youth advocates and a UNICEF high-profile supporter and draw together critical calls to action to get every girl learning.

Please confirm your interest in attending.
