For over a decade, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) have been the benchmark by which development progress has been judged. With the 2015 deadline for the MDGs approaching, a global conversation is underway about what should happen “post-2015”.

This provides governments, businesses and civil society with a unique opportunity to create meaningful and effective partnerships to support children’s rights.

Businesses have played an important role in contributing to the MDGs but in order to help create a world fit for children, they must go further. This briefing identifies the steps that businesses should take to maximise their impact on development and the role that the UK Government must play to support responsible business behaviour.
