Children affected
by Coronavirus
Be there for children
More than 1.4 million people are affected by the outbreak of a Novel Coronavirus across more than 180 countries and territories. As cases continue to rise worldwide, Unicef is helping to tackle the impact of this new virus. We are here for children always and we won’t stop now.
On 11th March 2020, The World Health Organisation declared COVID-19 a pandemic due to the disease’s geographical spread. The impact of a large-scale outbreak on children, especially poor and vulnerable children, has been immense. Children are at risk from the disease, but also from the disruption to health and education services, impacts on caregivers, and separation from family members.
How your donation helps
Unicef has been working closely with governments and the World Health Organization (WHO) since the start of the coronavirus outbreak. Your donation will help to limit the spread of the virus and reduce the impact on children and families.
This includes launching handwashing campaigns as well as providing essential health worker supplies, such as surgical gloves, soap and clean water facilities.
Just £30 could provide a full kit to protect a health-worker, including boots, gloves, masks and coveralls to help make sure that health workers are protected in situations where they may be at risk, while £43 could help provide 1,680 pairs of disposable gloves for health workers.
We urgently need funds to expand the scale and scope of our work, especially in countries with weaker health systems.
Please donate now
Your donation will go directly towards funding Unicef’s work to support children and families affected by Novel Coronavirus. In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed Unicef’s funding requirements for this appeal, your gift would go to our Children’s Emergency Fund.
