Unicef UK confirms launch of independent review

UNICEF UK STATEMENT ON 8 OCTOBER 2020

Home > Media Contacts and Press Releases > Unicef UK confirms launch of independent review

Following the previously announced resignations of its Executive Director and Chair of the Board of Trustees, Unicef UK confirms it has launched an independent externally-led review.

The review is being jointly commissioned by the global organisation UNICEF and its UK National Committee (Unicef UK), and will be conducted by Morgan, Lewis & Bockius UK LLP, a leading international law firm with strong UK charity sector and investigation experience.

The terms of reference for this review have been determined independently by Morgan Lewis to ensure that the review is comprehensive, fair and impartial. The review will consider and report on the allegations made by the outgoing Executive Director and any other staff members regarding the conduct of the former Chair of Unicef UK, as well as the actions of the Board of Unicef UK in relation to these allegations and the Executive Director’s resignation.

The findings of the review will be delivered in a written report to both co-commissioners and be made available to the Charity Commission.  The findings will be published on the Unicef UK website, save for any necessary redaction to maintain legal rights of confidentiality.

The review commenced today, and further information will not be shared until it has been completed.
