“I’m very happy to share this memory in the lead up to World Children’s Day in the form of a T-shirt, which I hope will raise vital funds for UNICEF’s work for children, protecting their rights, so they can experience things all children need – play, connection, and laughter with their friends and pets – some in the most difficult circumstances.”

Ahead of World Children’s Day 2024, UNICEF UK collaborated with Everpress to launch a limited-edition T-shirt collection with 100% of profits  going to UNICEF. Claudia, alongside UNICEF UK President Olivia Colman and fellow UNICEF UK Ambassadors Robbie Williams, Andy Murray, and Ramla Ali, created personalised T-shirts inspired by their childhood memories. Claudia recalls her own childhood and what inspired her T-shirt design:

When I think of my childhood, I think of my German Shepherd/Collie mix, Sultan. My uncle Peter rescued him in the streets of Spain one day. We all nursed him back to health and I remember at a young age being allowed to walk him by myself in our town. I was very proud. I often disappeared during the day only to be found sleeping with Sultan in his large kennel after having shared my sausage sandwich with him.”

Advocating for Immunisation

Claudia has been supporting UNICEF UK since 1997. In 2000, Claudia travelled to Bangladesh to take part in UNICEF UK’s International Immunisation Day and raise vital awareness of the importance of vaccination. During the trip Claudia followed the journey made by UNICEF UK polio vaccines and vaccination teams across Bangladesh’s most rural villages. Following the trip, Claudia supported our Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS campaign and went on to promote The Gift, raising awareness of UNICEF UK’s call for effective action to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

Claudia continues to support the invaluable fundraising efforts of our corporate partners. She has supported many corporate partnerships over the years and, amongst many activities, she recorded a voiceover in English, German and French to be played on every one of easyJet’s 1,200 daily flights, appealing for donations to UNICEF UK’s immunisation programmes for children. The partnership raised over £800,000 in just six months.
