The power of a Legacy
Thank you for your support
Saving tiny lives
Thank you for downloading our Gifts in Wills guide.
We’d like to introduce you to baby Ansu, who is only 5 days old. Here she is in her tiny hand-knitted beanie.
Luckily, Ansu – who was born prematurely – was born at the Kenema Government Hospital in Sierra Leone.
We say lucky because UNICEF renovated the neonatal intensive care unit at this hospital. We also provided all of the equipment and trained the midwives who work here. This means that babies like Ansu can have their best start to life.
Dr Kazi (pictured) is the paediatrician in charge of the new neonatal care unit. He is holding 10-day-old baby Charlie.
“Charlie couldn’t breathe by himself when he was born, but now he’s a lot better,” says Dr Kazi. “He has been in the intensive care unit since birth and was being given oxygen for five days.
We are hoping that in the next few days he can go home.”
Imagine the power of your legacy.
Ansu and Charlie’s stories show just how powerful a legacy gift can be. You could help save other tiny lives just like theirs with a gift in your Will to UNICEF.
