A very special gift for new mums, dads and babies in Scotland

Baby, I Love You is a baby book given from UNICEF, with love, to every baby born in Scotland between the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2018 Games in Australia’s Gold Coast.

The book helps build loving and nurturing relationships between new parents and their baby, encouraging skin contact, holding, stroking, playing and singing. It is made possible by our partnership with Glasgow 2014, saving and changing children’s lives in Scotland and throughout the Commonwealth.

It’s more than just a book…

The beautiful images in the book are by the award-winning author-illustrator Helen Stephens. A song, performed by Mairi Campbell and Ada Francis, accompanies Baby, I Love You and UNICEF Ambassador Ewan McGregor has recorded a reading of the book.

The book has been translated into Polish, Urdu and Chinese Mandarin. You can download all of the recordings on Soundcloud, including Ewan’s reading.
