Give in memory

Remember someone special by donating in their memory

Home > Why donate to UNICEF? > Give in memory

Thank you so much for considering donating to UNICEF in memory of your loved one.

A gift in memory of a loved one is a wonderful tribute to their life and a touching way to help our work for children in danger around the world. Gifts of any size given in memory help our work to reach the most vulnerable and marginalised children all over the world, providing the help they need when they need it most. To find out more about what your donation could fund, read about the ways UNICEF supports children here.

We hope this page gives you all the information you need about the different ways you can support UNICEF and the difference your support can make. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the In Memory team at any point.

Ways to donate in memory of your loved one

Make a one-off donation

Make a one-off donation online to UNICEF UK through our simple online form.

Alternatively, to post a cheque to UNICEF UK, please send a cheque to ‘In Memory Team, UNICEF UK, 1 Westfield Avenue, E20 1HZ’, with a brief cover letter to detail the donor and that it is an In Memory gift.

Set up a regular direct debit donation

Setting up a direct debit is an easy way to make a contribution regularly. You can do this through our simple online form.

Organise a funeral or memorial event collection

Organising a collection at an event is a wonderful way to support a cause that was close to heart of your loved one. We will shortly have funeral envelopes and leaflets available to request. In the meantime, please reach out to the funeral director you are working with for some guidance on how to organise a collection.

Due to the current Covid-19 outbreak, lots of things are changing, including how funerals are held.  Some supporters have kindly requested information on how to organise a collection virtually – please see the information on ‘Set up an online tribute page’ for guidance on how to do this.

Set up an online tribute page

Although wider family and friends may not be able to attend a service, they may still want to honour and remember a loved one by creating an online tribute fund.

Tribute pages are free to set up and are your own individual webpage where family and friends, near or far, can share special memories, support each other and celebrate a loved one’s life in a very personal way. You could also share on the tribute page why you have chosen to raise money for UNICEF UK in their name or why the charity was important to your loved one.

You can set up an online tribute page via websites such as MuchLoved and JustGiving.

Include a gift in your Will in memory

Including a gift in your Will in memory of your loved one is a wonderful way to keep them close while making your own legacy. Visit the UNICEF UK Gifts in Wills page here to request your free Gifts in Wills guide, to provide information on how you can write or update your Will to include a gift to UNICEF.

If you have any questions about the above ways to donate, please email the In Memory team at [email protected] or call the Supporter Care Team on 0300 330 5580 (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm).
