Actor James Nesbitt was first introduced to Unicef through his favourite football team Manchester United, one of Unicef UK's corporate partners, and has been a dedicated supporter since 2005.
James has travelled widely with Unicef, visiting Sudan to see our work rehabilitating child soldiers and India to see education projects.
He is a great advocate for children's rights and has helped to bring vital media attention to important issues facing children such as poverty, HIV and conflict, in particular through his trip to Zambia.
He has also enthusiastically supported Soccer Aid since it began in 2006, visiting Unicef projects in Georgia with institutionalised children as part of Soccer Aid 2 and children living with malaria in Guinea for Soccer Aid 3 in 2010.
James also supports our work with Rights Respecting Schools, most recently presenting the award to St Patrick's College in Dungannon, Northern Ireland.
