Wednesday 8th May – Capital Breakfast show host Roman Kemp is grabbing his footy boots as the latest signing for Soccer Aid for Unicef 2019. He joins a star-studded Soccer Aid World XI team including Didier Drogba, Usain Bolt, Kem Cetinay, Martin Compston, Michael Essien, Ricardo Carvalho and F2 Freestyler Billy Wingrove, managed by Harry Redknapp and Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan.

Roman said: “I’m so excited to make my debut for Soccer Aid for Unicef 2019 and can’t wait to get on the pitch at Stamford Bridge. I couldn’t quite believe it when I got the call, it’s a dream come true. I’ve watched Soccer Aid for years and as an Arsenal fan I can’t believe I’m going to be playing alongside so many legendary players such as Robert Pires.”

Roman and the Soccer Aid World XI team will go head to head against the England squad, including Sir Mo Farah, Jamie Redknapp, Ben Shephard, Joe Wicks, Mark Wright and F2 Freestyler Jeremy Lynch, co-managed by Sam Allardyce and Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid.

This year’s game contains female players for the first time ever – so far confirmed for England are ex-internationals Katie Chapman and Rachel Yankey, the most capped England player of all time with an incredible 129 caps. The names of all additional players will be announced in due course – watch this space!

Tickets for Soccer Aid for Unicef 2019 match on Sunday 16th June 2019 at Stamford Bridge are available now at www.socceraid.org.uk/tickets/or by calling 020 7386 2019. Tickets are priced at £10 for under-16s and adults from £20 meaning a family of four can attend for just £60.

The match will be broadcast live on ITV and STV on Sunday 16th June and the money raised will go towards Unicef’s vital work protecting children in danger around the world, helping every child grow up happy, healthy and safe to play. Soccer Aid for Unicef is produced by Initial, part of Endemol Shine UK, for ITV.

100% of all public donations to Soccer Aid for Unicef will go towards supporting the vital work protecting children around the world. The money raised through profits from ticket sales and viewer donations during the match will add to the incredible £30 million that has already been raised through Soccer Aid for Unicef since its inception.
