UNICEF UK occasionally offers one-week work experience placements to young people aged 14 to 18.
We will be reviewing our work experience programme during 2013. Any updates on the review will be made available here.
All our work is guided by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and offering work experience is one way that we can provide a meaningful opportunity for young people to be actively involved in the work that we do. It helps us to be more child-focused and encourages youth participation.
Through this placement for young people we aim to:
- Raise awareness about the work that we do
- Give an insight into the ‘world of work’ and the charity sector
- Help young people develop as individuals, and improve their employability by developing interests and skills
- Show young people the value of their contribution to society.
In the meantime, thank you for your interest in UNICEF UK. There are many other ways that young people can get actively involved in the work of UNICEF UK. Check out our youth site Tagd to find out more about the work that we do and how you can get involved.
