Musician and TV presenter Nicole Scherzinger has been supporting Unicef since 2014 when she travelled to Guyana ahead of our partnership with the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
During her visit she met children with disabilities at an inclusive playpark and saw how Unicef is helping to give disabled children the chance to play.
The following year, Nicole visited Manila in the Philippines where she met children living in dangerous, overcrowded communities around the capital. Nicole spent the day with families who live and work on the streets of Baseco compound and had the opportunity to take part in Unicef supported activities where children can learn about their rights.
In early 2016, Nicole travelled to Kenya for the 10th anniversary of Soccer Aid to make an appeal film about the 60,000 street children in Nairobi. Nicole saw the positive impact of Unicef supported centres where children are able to eat, clean their clothes and take part in learning activities. With the help of Nicole’s appeal, Soccer Aid 6 raised over £5.4 million for children in danger.
