Previous OutRight Campaigns

Resource Archive

Thank you for visiting this page!

Over the years children and young people taking part in OutRight have learned about and spoken up on issues including:

  • Health and health systems strengthening
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • The rights of young refugees
  • Air pollution
  • The 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
  • Climate Change

We’ve been getting some enquiries for the previous resource packs, so here they are!

If you’ve ended up on this page by accident and wanted to sign up for the current campaign, you can do so here.

Please read the resources carefully and remember they were created several years ago so some of the data, hyperlinks and suggested advocacy actions won’t be up to date.

If you have any issues viewing the resources, or have any questions at all, please email  [email protected]  and we will be happy to help.

Health and health systems strengthening (2022/23)

In 2022-23, OutRight focussed on children’s right to the best possible health, and how it links to health systems and the UNCRC. Children and young people produced a variety of posters, letters, poems and more, advocating for how children’s rights to be protected by strong health systems, all around the world, to be delivered to a Minister at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the UK Government.

Presentation and speakers notes

Question and Answers from our guestssome of the questions asked during the event were quite technical so we had to consult our UNICEF UK specialists. We hope this information helps you answer children’s questions.

Mental Health and Wellbeing (2021/22)

We held our first Support Workshop on 15 September 2021: we really enjoyed answering your questions and hearing your ideas. You can find the notes from the workshop here.

The second Support Workshop was on 20 October 2021. Again, we had some interesting and helpful questions about the campaign. You can find the notes from the workshop here.

These notes are useful for anyone leading OutRight with the children and young people they work with!

We held a webinar for children and young people taking part in the OutRight campaign, on 19 November 2021. We loved seeing so many settings join from all over the UK and really hope you enjoyed the event. We will be sharing notes from the event here.

Dr. Polly Walker, UNICEF UK Programme Information Specialist – Child Health, told us about her Psychological First Aid tool during the World Children’s Day event – you can find this great resource here.

Climate Change (2020/21)

In 2020/21 OutRight focussed on the impact of climate change and its effects on children’s rights. Children and young people called on decision makers to put children and their rights at the heart of discussions in the lead-up to the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow, November 2021.
